Michal Szczodry, MD

Dr. Michal Szczodry specializes in the surgical and non-surgical treatment of spine conditions affecting the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine, including spine deformities, disc degeneration, spinal stenosis, failed spine surgeries, infections, and tumors.

He graduated from the Medical University of Warsaw, Poland, where he received numerous awards, including a merit-based yearly scholarship. After moving to the United States, he completed a research fellowship in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh, then entered his Orthopaedic Surgery residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he was elected administrative chief resident and nominated to the American Orthopaedic Association Leadership Forum. He went on to complete subspecialty fellowship training in spine surgery at Johns Hopkins University, focusing on complex spine disorders and surgical spine reconstruction in both adults and children.

Dr. Szczodry continues to be involved in research and attends national and international conferences. He holds the title of Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois and serves as Associate Residency Program Director in its Department of Orthopaedic Surgery.
